In the pre-coastal valley located on the coastal plain on the route between Santiago and Valparaiso. The vine plantations have been there since 1870. Today there are around 25 big wineries in the valley.
The zone has a semi-dry climate, its maritime influence produces fog and the clear, bright sun allows it to work the plants without excessive temperature which is favorable for a slow ripening allowing the white varieties to maintain an intense aroma and taste. Wines that are known for their irresistible fruitiness not only throughout Chile’s other valleys but also in other parts of the world.
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Merlot are the emblematic grapes of Casablanca and together they make up 90% of the total area planted. On this tour you can visit the huge wine cellars and boutique vineyards which are impeccable. |
