All types of fruits spring from the earth here, vegetables, flowers, grapevines and vines that produce Table grapes, pisco and wine. Today the valley is green. The clear green of Sauvignon Blanc, dark sparkling green of Chardonnay and Cabernet and the soft green of the vines of Table grapes, avocado, lucuma and papaya trees. The weather is a predominant factor in the quality of the wines; fresh near to the coast, warm in the centre and hotter 60 or 70 kilometers from the sea. Within a small space, there are the suitable climates for diverse types of wine. Here the reds do very well because the grape can ripen fully in the high areas, without the fear of being effected by summer rain. And on lower ground, Chardonnay and other whites are of high quality thanks to the cool temperature that the coastal climate brings.
