It is one of the youngest wine growing areas in the country. The oldest vineyards appeared in 1997, in less than a decade 4 vineyards have been established, which has given this area its own identity as a producer of premium wines.

San Antonio’s landscape is characterized by numerous hills and hillocks with the granitic and clayey soils of the mountain range of the coast, areas that receive cold, frontal winds from the Pacific. This exposes the vineyards to cold ocean breezes, making it necessary to produce small bunches that mature slowly, but with high concentrations of flavor and aroma, conditions particularly favorable to grapes such as Sauvignon Blanc. A characteristic unique to the area are its mineral tones and a wonderful freshness and acidity.

The warm conditions during the spring and the summer are perfect for the production of Chardonnay. They have also introduced other varieties such as Syrah with excellent results.
